Some names just feel like home.

Before this space becomes full of book reviews, thriller recommendations, reading lists, cozy finds, current reads, and all the little things that make reading feel special, it only feels right to start with the story behind the name.

Hi there, and welcome to Sweet Pea & Pages.

I’ve been so excited to create this little corner of the internet. A place to share what I’m reading, what I’m loving, what kept me up way too late, and what I think belongs on every cozy reader’s shelf. But more than that, I wanted this to feel personal from the very beginning.

Because Sweet Pea & Pages is not just a blog name to me.

It is a piece of my life, my love of books, my heart for community, and a dream I hope will keep growing one page at a time.

Where the name Sweet Pea & Pages came from

The “Sweet Pea” part of Sweet Pea & Pages comes from something very personal.

It’s my husband’s nickname for me.

It is one of those little things that may seem simple from the outside, but means so much when it belongs to your everyday life. It feels warm, familiar, and special. When I started thinking about what to call this bookish space, I kept coming back to that feeling.

I wanted the name to feel cozy.

I wanted it to feel personal.

I wanted it to feel like something rooted in love, not just something that sounded cute on a screen.

Pairing “Sweet Pea” with “Pages” just felt right. It brought together something personal with the thing I have always loved, books. And just like that, Sweet Pea & Pages was born.

There was no huge branding meeting, no complicated explanation, no overthinking once the name landed. It simply felt like me.

And that is exactly how I want this space to feel too.

Warm. Honest. Bookish. A little cozy. A little personal. A place where readers can settle in and feel welcome.

A little about me

I’m Polly.

Originally from the Bay Area and now residing in Livermore, California. I’m a wife, pet parent, full-time recruiter, Pilates reformer instructor, and a lifelong enthusiast of cozy routines, excellent coffee, and books that keep me guessing until the final page.

My days usually involve a blend of work, exercise, teaching, family time, and finding small moments of calm whenever possible. Reading has become one of my favorite ways to unwind, reset, and immerse myself in another world.

Why community matters so much to me

Books can be deeply personal. Reading is often quiet, cozy, and individual. But books also have this amazing way of bringing people together.

A good book can turn strangers into friends.

A shocking plot twist can spark an hour-long conversation.

A shared love of thrillers can become the beginning of a real community.

That love of connection is a huge part of who I am. I love bringing people together. I love creating spaces where people feel welcome, included, and excited to show up. I love when a shared interest turns into something bigger than expected.

That passion is what led me to create Live No More Thrillers, a local thriller book club centered around books, friendship, community, and supporting local businesses.

Starting that book club reminded me how special it feels when readers gather in real life. There is something so fun about sitting with other people who understand the need to discuss every suspicious character, every shocking reveal, and every ending that left you staring at the wall.

It also showed me that bookish spaces can be about more than reading the same title.

They can support local businesses.

They can create friendships.

They can make people feel part of something.

They can give readers a reason to get out, connect, and enjoy a story together.

In a lot of ways, that experience helped inspire the bigger dream behind Sweet Pea & Pages.

This is only the beginning

Right now, Sweet Pea & Pages is starting as a book blog.

This will be the place where I share what I’m reading, what I recommend, what I can’t stop thinking about, and what I think deserves a spot on your TBR. It will be a home for honest reviews, cozy bookish finds, seasonal reading lists, current reads, and plenty of thriller talk.

But I have an even bigger dream for this space.

My goal is to eventually take Sweet Pea & Pages on the road and turn it into a mobile bookshop.

I can picture it so clearly.

A cozy bookstore on wheels, filled with carefully chosen books, thoughtful little finds, warm details, and that same welcoming feeling I hope this blog gives from the start.

I imagine shelves of thrillers, romance, fantacy, book club picks, and books that feel like they were waiting for the right reader to find them. I imagine cozy touches, sweet details, and a space that feels inviting from the second someone walks up.

More than anything, I imagine Sweet Pea & Pages becoming an experience.

Not only somewhere to buy a book, but somewhere to discover something new, talk about stories, meet other readers, support local events, and feel part of a community.

That dream will take time, planning, patience, and probably a lot of coffee. But this blog is the first step.

And I’m so happy you’re here at the beginning.

What you’ll find on Sweet Pea & Pages

As this space grows, I want it to feel like a cozy mix of book talk, reader life, and behind-the-scenes dreaming.

You can expect plenty of:

  • Honest book reviews

  • Current reads

  • Thriller recommendations

  • Psychological suspense favorites

  • Seasonal reading lists

  • Sweet Pea Picks

  • Cozy bookish finds

  • Book club thoughts and community content

  • Updates on the mobile bookshop dream

  • Probably a lot of coffee along the way ☕️

I want my reviews to feel honest and helpful. Not every book will be for every reader, and that is part of the fun. I love hearing why one book completely worked for someone and why another did not.

I want to share recommendations that feel thoughtful, especially for readers who love suspenseful stories, twisty plots, and books that keep them guessing.

I also want Sweet Pea Picks to become a special part of this space. A place for favorites, standouts, cozy recommendations, and books or bookish items that feel extra worth sharing.

Some posts may be simple and fun, like what I’m reading this week.

Some may be more detailed, like a full review of a thriller I could not put down.

Some may be seasonal, because there is nothing quite like matching a book to a mood. A rainy weekend thriller, a fall reading list, a cozy winter stack, a beach bag mystery, a book club pick that starts a great conversation.

And some posts will follow the behind-the-scenes journey of building Sweet Pea & Pages into something even bigger.

The kind of space I hope this becomes

When I think about Sweet Pea & Pages, I think about feeling at home.

I think about curling up with a book after a long day.

I think about that first sip of coffee while opening a new chapter.

I think about walking into a book club and realizing you are surrounded by people who are just as excited to talk about fictional drama as you are.

I think about the small joy of finding the perfect bookmark, the perfect cozy read, or the perfect recommendation from someone who really gets your reading taste.

That is the feeling I want to build here.

A place that feels personal without feeling closed off.

A place that celebrates thrillers, cozy moments, honest thoughts, and reader joy.

A place where community matters just as much as the books on the shelf.

Because reading can be an escape, but it can also be a way back to connection. It gives us something to talk about, something to share, and sometimes even something to build friendships around.

That is what makes this dream feel so special to me.

Sweet Pea & Pages begins with books, but I hope it grows into something much bigger than that.

Thank you for being here at the beginning

Starting something new is exciting, but it also feels a little vulnerable.

This blog is the first page of a dream I have been carrying in my heart. A dream filled with books, cozy details, community, connection, and the hope of one day bringing a mobile bookshop to life.

For now, I’m so grateful to begin right here.

With a name that means something to me.

With stories I can’t wait to share.

With readers who love the magic of a good book, a warm drink, and a cozy place to land.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning of Sweet Pea & Pages.

Here’s to building this little bookish dream one page, one reader, and one cozy moment at a time.
